Hasard Coal mining was an extraction of anthracite, a mineral very similar to coal. If some skinny farms were opened between 1511 and 1811 on areas of Barchon, Cheratte and Saive, the actual operation as we know it today was opened in 1847 (Gothic architecture), repeating the old concessions Bouhouille. The site is complemented by a second round of extraction, concrete, in the 30's. He knows when its peak and employs 1500 workers and employees. The peculiarity of Cheratte is also the vice of baths and showers and changing rooms. Usually in the mining sector, it was showers. Here is a luxury. The colliery closed in 1977 when it employed 600 miners.
